WHY DO WE ENCOURAGE MEMBERSHIP:

1. It promotes stability and strength (Hebrews 10:24-25)

2. It encourages commitment as anything you belong to will cause you to become more committed.

3. It is a public acknowledgment of your commitment and intent to support and participate in this ministry.

4. Membership involves a willingness to be committed to the purpose and direction of this church and a willingness to be accountable in fulfilling those purposes personally.

ALL APLICANTS MUST BE A REGULAR ATTENDER FOR 6 MONTHS TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR MEMBERSHIP.

ALL APPLICANTS REQUESTING MEMBERSHIP MUST ATTEND A MEMBERSHIP CLASS AFTER RECEIVING YOUR APPLICATION A PASTOR WILL CONTACT YOU.

MEMBERSHIP COMMITMENT

I am 18 years of age or older and have received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and have been baptized in water. I am in agreement with the Statement of Faith and fully support the Purpose and Core Values of House of Mercy International Gospel Ministry. I will respect the Constitution and Bylaws of House of Mercy International Gospel Ministry. I feel led by the Holy Spirit to unite with House of Mercy International Gospel Ministry’s church family and, in doing so, commit myself to the following:

1.  I WILL PROTECT THE UNITY OF MY CHURCH

  • By acting in love towards other partners and attendees.
  • By refusing to gossip or slander others but rather work in harmony with them.
  • By following and supporting the Pastor and leaders of House of Mercy International Gospel Ministry.

2.  I WILL SHARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF MY CHURCH

  • By praying for its health and growth.
  • By inviting the unchurched to attend.
  • By warmly welcoming those who visit and are new.

3.  I WILL SERVE THE MINISTRY OF MY CHURCH

  • By discovering my gifts and talents and using them for God’s glory.
  • By being involved in some area of Ministry or service that connects me to  the life of the church
  • By being equipped to minister by my pastors and leaders.
  • By developing and maintaining a servant’s heart.

4.  I WILL SUPPORT THE TESTIMONY OF MY CHURCH

  • By attending faithfully.
  • By living a godly life as outlined in the Bible.  (Gal.5:19-26, I Cor.6:15-18)
  • By giving regularly.
If at any time you don’t understand or agree with the leadership of the church or some aspect of the church we ask that you give us an opportunity to respond to your concerns and questions.  Should you still feel that you cannot live with the decisions and answers given and feel you must leave, we ask that you leave gently, quietly and in a godly manner so as not to hinder the work of God here.
